Autumn is my favourite season and although the temperatures look set to soar again next week I can already smell the start of wood burning in the air when I venture out in the evening. September is a funny old month in the restaurant and because we're not sure whether the "Indian Summer" is going to be upon us we're not changing over to full blown Autumn and Winter warmers.
September Menu sees the return of our wood fired chickens for 1,2 or 4. The chickens are cooked on our Traeger wood pellet grill using pecan wood pellets using a combination of rubs, oils and herbs to give it its unique and juicy taste.
As well as our two stalwarts of Steak and Mussels, we also see the welcome return of our Beef Short Rib Carbonnade. The ribs are sealed in seasoned flour then slow cooked in Black Tor beer for 8 hours. They literally are melt in the mouth.
We also see the return of our delicious roasted Hake with Lemon and Caper dressing. We'll also be smoking some trout fillets and serving them up with Hollandaise with just a hint of horseradish. Our vegetarian guests can look forward to traditional Pistou and a classic French Vegetable Ragout. Also on the menu we have a selection of homemade sorbets and vegan ice cream.
